I realized tonight that I need to resume by daily blogs as much as possible. Too many thoughts that need an outlet for release. I mean what kind of writer would I be without it, right?

This world is made up of so many different people and experiences to behold. Sometimes it’s all about interpretation.

At the same time, it’s also about not letting people walk all over you by giving them the benefit of the doubt too many times.

I’ve come to accept as truth, that if it feels wrong in your gut, it usually is wrong and you need to follow that feeling the first time. Once you start to ignore your heart (and gut), you ignore your intuition and instincts. We were born with those for a reason and it’s important that we stay true to ourselves.

I’ve been known to walk away from countless situations and people that weren’t any good for me. I’ve also learnt that if you try to force or ignore it, it may begin to fester and in time just proves unhealthy and toxic. It’s not about giving up, it’s a matter of self-preservation and doing what’s right for you to remain sane and balanced.

It’s not that something is wrong with you, it’s about the different energies that you attract because of your persona. Don’t apologize or feel sorry for yourself, embrace and learn more about how best to manage it. Don’t accept sub-standard behaviour or excuse someone else’s foibles or hang-ups either. Be strong and stand your ground or simply just walk away. It’s not always about having the last say. It’s hard, but I learnt that the hard way.

As you grow older, you begin to learn more about yourself. What is truth and what is lie. You learn to listen and trust that inner voice more. The same one that screams whether something or someone is good for you or not. When you ignore this and give a person too many second chances, you open yourself up to unnecessary ill-feeling and injury. When that happens, it’s usually time to cut your losses and move on. Next!

Don’t listen to anyone else. Listen to your heart. It never leads you wrong. It’s sometimes a painful journey because you may have to “burn to learn” but it’s a journey that’s worth exploring in order to delve deeper into your psyche to know how to treat with the world around you.

Don’t be a follower. The world is to big for that. Go where few tread. You were made to stand out.

I am no expert. I learn by trial and error, but I try to learn the first time, because “once bitten, twice shy” is an all too potent lesson for me.

Peace & Love
